Join us for this FREE and family friendly event! Donations always welcome.\n\nMeet at Maggie’s House (white house to the right of the Old Stone Jail Museum) to start a tour\, and stop in for refreshments and souvenirs – books\, aprons\, tea towels\, and more.

SUMMARY:S.C. Abrams Open House (Phase I)
DESCRIPTION:Date: Monday\, November 16\, 2026\n\n​Time: 4-7pm\n\n\n​Location: S.C. Abrams Academy at 3395 Central Plains Road\, Palmyra\, VA\n\n\nCome see the renovations and learn about the history of the S.C. Abrams Building. Built in 1936 as the first high school for Fluvanna’s African American students\, and operating as such until 1969 when Fluvanna’s schools were finally integrated\, this building is an iconic piece of Fluvanna’s history which is still in use by the Fluvanna County school system today. Today known as Abrams Academy\, it is now used as an alternative education building for Fluvanna students.   Come by this open house for refreshments\, take a tour of the renovated building\, and see emerging exhibits which will help tell the history of this remarkable building.  This event is in partnership with Fluvanna County Public Schools\, the Abrams Alumni Association\, and the Fluvanna Historical Society.

We will have a table with information about the Historical Society\, activities for kids\, and of course\, gifts for sale for history buffs just in time for the holiday season.\n\nThe Farm Heritage Museum is the green building located just past the main Pleasant Grove House (also called Haden House) and on the right as you make your way toward the Pole Barns.
