Farm Heritage Museum

The Fluvanna Farm Heritage Museum at Pleasant Grove Park opened to the public on May 4, 2019. This Museum is a joint project of Fluvanna County and the Fluvanna Historical Society on land donated by the county.

The Museum, which is filled with antique farm equipment from the collection of John May, as well as pieces from other Fluvanna collectors, provides an evolution of farming from 1865 through 1965.  The Museum is owned and operated by Fluvanna County under its Department of Parks and Recreation and its collections and exhibits are maintained by the Fluvanna Historical Society. The Fluvanna Historical Society raised over $285,000 for this Museum.

While you are at Pleasant Grove Park, be sure to visit Pleasant Grove House Museum and Visitor Center, along with the Summer Kitchen, owned and operated by Fluvanna County and run by Parks and Recreation. All of these museums are free admission.

Pleasant Grove House Museum and Summer Kitchen

The Pleasant Grove Museum is an 1854 home originally owned by the Haden family, and now holds fascinating exhibits on travel in Fluvanna – roads, rivers, canals, and railroads, and the Summer Kitchen hosts a beautiful natural history display put together by Virginia Master Gardeners. It also serves as Fluvanna County’s Visitor Center.
