Research Library at Maggie’s House
The FHS Research Library contains many publications about Fluvanna history and local regional histories that are hard to find, including Fluvanna Historical Society publications, family genealogies, books about local churches, cemeteries, Native Americans, African-American history, military history, transportation, broader Virginia histories, and more. Please check out our library catalog for more information on our what is available. No registration or fees are required to use this collection, and a copier is available to use for a small fee.
Archives at Maggie’s House
The FHS Archives Collection contains primary source documents, photographs, research by FHS historians, and copies of documents and photographs provided by other genealogists and researchers. The Archives Index is meant to give researchers and genealogists an idea of the kinds of things that may be found, though it is not an exhaustive list of our collections, and new things are frequently added or are being further indexed. Please give FHS a call, an email, or fill out the research request form below to ask for more information.
Research Requests
For research assistance from Fluvanna Historical Society relating to Fluvanna history or genealogy, please fill out the form below. When FHS staff or volunteers are conducting research for others, the first hour of research is free, and after that there is a $25 fee for each additional two hours of research. We will contact you to confirm before proceeding with any research. Please note that the bulk of this research is done by volunteers, and may take some time to process your request.
