S.C. Abrams Open House (Phase I)

Come see the renovations and learn about the history of the S.C. Abrams Building. Built in 1936 as the first high school for Fluvanna’s African American students, and operating as such until 1969 when Fluvanna’s schools were finally integrated, this building is an iconic piece of Fluvanna’s history which is still in use by the Fluvanna County school system today. Today known as Abrams Academy, it is now used as an alternative education building for Fluvanna students.   Come by this open house for refreshments, take a tour of the renovated building, and see emerging exhibits which will help tell the history of this remarkable building.  This event is in partnership with Fluvanna County Public Schools, the Abrams Alumni Association, and the Fluvanna Historical Society.
